Our Team

The Salisbury Senior Leadership Team comprises the Principal, Deputy Principal, Residential Manager and Business Manager.

Alongside our full time registered teachers, we also have a team of experienced teacher aides. Further specialist services for ORS funded students are contracted through Ministry of Education Learning Support.

Boarding school staff include: Student Support Managers who supervise and provide leadership and direction for boarding school staff; Student Support Facilitators, who develop, co-ordinate and implement Individual Education Plans (IPs) for students; and night staff, who support students through the night.

Salisbury also provides counselling and all students' physical health needs are met by a student health coordinator.

Our team works in partnership with a wide range of additional specialists such as dedicated Ministry of Education Psychologists; Resource Teachers: Learning Behaviour (RTLBs), BLENNZ (Blind and Low Vision New Zealand), van Asch Deaf Education / Ko Taku Reo, Ministry of Education Specialist Services, Developmental Orientation and Mobility therapists, and a small team of dedicated counsellors.

Ellie comes from an extensive background in both education and therapy, having worked with children and their families in a wide range of diverse settings.

Seven years working in Eastern Europe within war affected countries has provided Ellie with a strong platform for developing her special interest in trauma-informed practice.

Ellie has also worked in various education roles across New Zealand and England and has enjoyed teaching time across all sectors – early childhood, school, and tertiary.

As a Principal, Ellie works to build an inclusive culture of high aspirations where staff, students, and their families, experience belonging, wellbeing, and success.

Jennifer - Deputy Principal

Jennifer started out her career in education 10 years ago in the UK, as a Digital Technology teacher and Head of Year 7.

It was this leadership role that saw her drawn to supporting students with special educational needs, seeing the enormous impact specialised learning has on young lives.

With a love for the outdoors and the warm kiwi culture, Jennifer and her family moved to New Zealand in 2018.

Jennifer has worked at Salisbury since 2019 and oversees the day to day running of the day school, working collaboratively with the team to ensure 'greater possibilities in life and learning beyond Salisbury' for all students.
